Joe Ray Knight, 75, of Bynum died Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at his home from complications from Parkinson disease. Mr. Knight was born February 8, 1935 in Richard Springs, TX to Lillian Kennedy and Gus Ellison Knight. He graduated from Jewett High School and later served in the United States Army. Later, Joe obtained his license and worked in real estate for several years before going into the welding business. Mr. Knight co-owned and operated Welders Supply and Equipment Company in Hillsboro, until he retired in 1999 to take care of his grandchildren. Mr. Knight was an ordained Deacon and member of the Malone Baptist Church in Malone and enjoyed farming, ranching, and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Jane Knight of Bynum; daughter, Kelda Stanley and husband, Donald, of Bynum; son, Kevin Knight and wife, Leslie, of Wichita Falls; grandchildren, Skyler Stanley, Alexis Stanley, Tanner Zachry, and Makenzi Zachry; sister, Thelma Owen; brother, Glenis Knight and wife, Mary; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be made to Hospice of The Heart, P. O. Box 2081, Whitney, TX 76692.
