Joe Perkins

Joe Perkins, 96, of Aquilla, passed away on May 9, 2016 in Waco. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 13 2016, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney. Burial will follow the service at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the funeral home.

Joe was born on August 13, 1919, in Aquilla, to Joe and Mary Eva (Vanderford) Perkins. He lived in Aquilla all of his life where he farmed and ranched. On July 18, 1942, he married Lorean Noel and she preceded him in death on July 2, 2012.

During World War II, he served his country in the U.S. Army medical corps. Joe was a member of the Aquilla Church of Christ.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, Jessie Bowman.

Survivors include several nieces, nephews, cousins and close family friends.
