Joe Reel

Howard Joseph (Joe) Reel, 84, of Whitney passed away Monday, July 15, 2013, at Lake Whitney Medical Center in Whitney. Graveside services will be held at Noon on Friday, July 19, 2013, at Bethlehem Cemetery near Whitney with Father Ouseph Thekkumthala officiating.

Joe was born November 21, 1928 in La Porte, Indiana to Paul and Blanche (Boze) Reel. During World War II, he served his country in the United States Navy. On February 12, 1949, he married Mary Artes Hamilton and she preceded him in death on April 7, 2006. For most of his life, he was a lithographer. He was member of the American Legion.

Preceding him in death were his parents; son, Donald Patrick Reel; two brothers, Robert M. Reel and Paul Reel; and a sister, Mary Sass.

Survivors include his four children, Joseph D. Reel and wife, Mary, of Rockville, IN, Dan Reel and wife, Deborah, of Irving, Sandra Trenton of Keller, and John Reel and wife, Carla, of Whitney; two sisters, Virginia Byrne and Elaine Hansen, both of California; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
