John Russell Curran (J.R.)

John Russell Curran, age 35 of Whitney, Texas passed away Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Harris Methodist in Ft. Worth, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney with Jesse Luper officiating.

J.R. was born on January 4, 1989, in Dallas, Texas to his parents, Tina and Dennis Curran. (Born to love the Cowboys!) He graduated in 2007 in Flagstaff, Arizona. A year later, welcoming his son to the world in 2008. J.R. later moved to Whitney, Texas and set down his roots. He received the devastating news of cancer in 2012. J.R. finally got his chance to be a full time dad in 2021, bringing us to this year. He was an entrepreneur cut short on time. J.R. was the most innovative in the family and brilliantly creative in all the things he put his mind to. J.R. reached his biggest goals in life, building a family and a home. His biggest accomplishment was finally having the relationship with his son he always wanted. J.R. was a fun and loving man that could be a bit dramatic, but we loved him for all that he was. We will hold dear all the family gathering, all the family game nights filled with belly laughs, the cackle laughs, the non-stop riffing off each other until the wee hours of the night. We know no better than to honor him by doing just that, for now we come together to share tears and laughter, at the table, playing games. We will forever remember fondly of all the good moments spent together.
