John Fields


John B. Fields, 80, of Whitney passed away peacefully Saturday, September 8, 2018 surrounded by his loved ones. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Cedar Creek Baptist Church. Officiating will be Brother Rob Beasley and Brother Rusty Penny. A visitation will be held from 6:00- 8:00 PM Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney. Burial will be at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro.

John was born on September 15, 1937 in Cransfills Gap, Texas to Maurice and Ada Mae (Anderson) Fields. He was a Trooper with the Texas Department of Public Safety, retiring in 1993.

Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Joyce Lowry; brother, Frank Fields; granddaughter, Brittany Fields, and great-granddaughter, Kaisley Stewart.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 42 years, Doris Fields of Whitney; children, Bennett Fields of Clifton, Randy (Cotton) Fields and wife, Liz of Plainview, Wayne Clay and wife, Sheila of Whitney, Kenneth Fields and wife, Rhonda of Clifton, Donald (Bubba) Clay and wife, Debbie of Whitney; 33 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
