John Flick, 63, of Whitney, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, July 14, 2015. No services are scheduled at this time.
John was born on March 9, 1952, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Ronald and Mary Lee (Jacobson) Flick. His early years were spent in Kalamazoo before moving to California in 1958 where he worked as a painter. In 2000 he moved to Texas, settling in Whitney in 2003. A very talented artist, he enjoyed drawing and painting.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, Annette Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Claudette Flick of Whitney; two children, Heather Costa and husband, Rob of Canada and Chris Poare of California; two step-children, Amber Hull and husband, Scott, and Lisa Christian, all of Whitney; four grandchildren, Kaylee Costa, Sean Jeffrey Hull, Melodee Claudette Hull and Seaira Miller; a brother, Murnane Lee and wife, Dixie of Tyler and two sisters Mary Elana Winters and April Flick, both of Colorado. He was of the christian science faith.
The family requests memorials be made to Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors to assist with final expenses. Memorials may be sent to P.O. Box 273, Whitney, TX 76692.
