John Harrell


John Edward Harrell, 81, of Hillsboro went to be with his Lord on Saturday, May 20, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Monday, May 22, 2017, at First United Methodist Church in Hillsboro with Rev. John Nader officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens Cemetery in San Angelo.

John was born on June 4, 1935 to Robert Lee and Lora Pearl Harrell in Winters, TX. He graduated from San Angelo High School and joined the United States Army, where he served 4 years. In early 1972, he met the love of his life, Elizabeth Ann McCollough, at a Sunday School party and they were married June 30, 1972.

John was an avid NASCAR fan, plastic model enthusiast, loved to fish and tinker. As a young adult, he worked at Wilson’s Hobby Supply, in San Angelo. In the mid 80’s, John was fortunate to open his own hobby shop, John’s Hobby Kit, in the Midland Dellwood Mall.

John is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Elizabeth; his children, Chris Harrell of Midland, Robert Harrell and his wife, Melissa, of Midland, Renee Constancio and husband, Marcus, of Hot Springs, AR, and Debra Lindsey and friend, Billy Sherman, of Huntsville. John is also survived by his best friend and father-in-law, Clyde McCollough.
His memory will be cherished by his grandchildren, Paul Constancio, Matthew Lindsey, Kelly Williams and her husband, Derek, Ashley Harrell, Sheldon Harrell, Brittany Harrell, Kayleah Harrell, and Zachary Harrell; as well as great-grandchildren, Nathan and Juliet Rose Constancio, Caleb Windham, Jayden Ryan and Ryland Michelle Lindsey, and Paisley Ray and David Rhett Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee and Lora Pearl Harrell; mother-in-law, Mavis McCollough; and great-grandson, Anthony Windham.

John was a loving husband, great father, grandfather, and friend. He will be missed by those who loved him and knew him best.
