John Hall MacDonald, 97 of Whitney passed away on May 15, 2012.
Family will hold a memorial service in Port Aransas at a later date.
John was born on July 7, 1914 in Perry County, Mississippi to John and Abbie Hall MacDonald. He was an independent oil and gas operator and had lived in Whitney since 1978. John was married to June McCulley from August 1940 to July 5, 1999. He then married LaNell Eubank in August 1999 and shared six stepchildren. On July 21, 2001, John marrried Durene Harlin Crouch. He was a member of the Unity Church.
Survivors include his children, John Rodger MacDonald and wife, Diana of Port Aransas and Gail M. Gawenis of Houston; grandchildren, Stephen Gawenis of League City, James Gawenis of Salt Lake City of Utah; great grandchildren, Rion, Ashley, Cassandra and Ian Gawenis.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Texas Organic Farmers Growers Association, PO Box 48, Elgin, TX 78621
