John Mcalpin

John T. McAlpin, 69, of Whitney passed away on July 6, 2008 at his residence. John was born on September 10, 1938 in Milford to W.H. and Myrtle Katherine Green McAlpin. He grew up in Milford and graduated from Milford High School in 1956. He graduated from University of Texas in 1962 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He married Anna Rose Whitson on August 25, 1962 and they were married for 45 years. He worked for Texas Power and Light and T.U. for 30 years and then did consulting work for 5 years. He and Anna Rose moved to Whitney in 1999. He was a charter member of White Bluff Chapel and member of the First Methodist Church of Duncanville for 25 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Katherine Posey. Survivors include his wife, Anna Rose of Whitney; children, David McAlpin of Seattle, Washington and Gregory McAlpin of Houston; brothers, W.H. McAlpin of Duncanville, S.E. McAlpin of Carrollton, and D.L. McAlpin of Midlothian; sister Betty Durst of San Antonio; grandson, Andrew McAlpin.
