John Taylor

John Taylor, 89, of Lakeside Village, passed away on March 23, 2017, at Providence Health Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held at Marshall and Marshall Chapel at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 27, 2017, with Rev. Bobby Booth officiating. Burial will follow at Whitney Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Monday, prior to the service.

John was born on January 27, 1928, in Whitney, to John and Rosa Bell (New) Taylor. On May 5, 1950, he married Betty Sue Martin in Whitney. He was a long time car dealer in Cleburne. A 32nd Degree Mason for 64 years, he was also a member of Towash Baptist Church. Gardening and growing his tomatoes were favorite pastimes, but he really enjoyed walking his faithful companion, Jack.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Taylor of Lakeside Village; his sons, Larry Taylor and wife, Susan of Azle, and Gary Taylor and wife Lesa, of Lakeside Village; brother, Harold Taylor of Whitney and a sister, Juanita Hiller of Austin; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
