Johnny Ray Brown, 75, of Hillsboro passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013, in Hillsboro. Inurnment will take place at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2013, at NTAC in Hillsboro.
Johnny was born December 21, 1937 in Rockwood, Tennessee the son of Bernard and Mildred (Graves) Brown. In 1954, he joined the United States Air Force. Then in 1956, he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard.
For many years, Johnny worked for Brown and Root before owning J. S. Garage in Euless. In 1986, he married Sue (Spangler) Ashley. Together they built an R. V. Park in Alabama and loved to travel around the United States. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro and he loved to square dance.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Brown of Hillsboro; two children, Johnny, Jr. and Sandra; step-daughter, Amy Ashley of Plano; two half-brothers, James and Edward Foust, both of Rockwood, TN; half-sister, Ruth Orem of Maryland; three grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.
