Johnny Ray Horn Sr. 80, of Clifton passed away at his residence on Sunday, May 17, 2015. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney, with Mr. David Snipes officiating. Burial will follow at Smith- Bend Coon Creek Cemetery in Bosque County. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Monday, May 18, 2015 at the funeral home.
Johnny Was born on August 28, 1934 in Aquilla, to the late Jim and Elvin (Montgomery) Horn.
He married JoAnn Wills on July 3,1951 in Aquilla. Johnny worked at Simmons Company in Dallas, he also owned and operated several different Service Stations in the Dallas area. He also spent his time driving a van for Central Texas Senior Ministry.
An avid domino player, especially 42, he was also a huge fan of baseball, and enjoyed watching the Texas Rangers. Spending time and playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren was a great joy in his life, as well as his love for animals.He was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church of Aquilla.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a son, Johnny Ray Horn Jr., and brother, Howard Horn.
Survivors include his wife JoAnn Horn of Clifton; daughter Debbie Bembenek and husband Steve of Tyler; grand-son, Justin Turner and wife Carrie of Dallas; grand-daughter, Heather Horn of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Clayton Mahoney, Britney Campa, Kaylee Wilson, Linken Wilson, all of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and Sawyer Turner of Dallas. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
