Johnny Orville Ivie

Johnny O. Ivie, age 85, of Whitney, Tx, passed peacefully Friday, June 30, 2023 in Whitney.

Johnny was born June 12, 1938, to Ellis and Beatrice Ivie in Hillsboro, Tx. He grew up in Hillsboro, where he met the love of his life, Sandra Williams, of 66 years. Johnny retired first sergeant from the Army National Guard, having served 21 years in the Infantry and Airborne Divisions. Following his service in the National Guard, Johnny went on to own and operate Ivie's Garage in Hillsboro for 25 years.

Johnny is survived by his loving wife, Sandra, of Whitney; daughters, Rhonda Strange, of Waco, Donna Sims and husband Paul, of Whitney, and Johnna Talley and husband Joel, of Bosqueville; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Survivors also include 1 brother and 4 sisters, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney, Texas on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 pm for family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at Marshall and Marshall at 10:00 am, on Thursday, July 6, 2023.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be directed to Wounded Warriors Project or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Johnnys name.
