Jonell Isbell, 87, of Hillsboro passed away Sunday, June 5, 2011, at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home in Whitney. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, at College Hill Church of Christ in Hillsboro with Mr. Glenn Standly officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.
Jonell was born September 20, 1923 in Chatt the daughter of Obidiah and Maude (Bentley) Laurence. On November 25, 1942 she married Everett E. Isbell in a minister’s home in Grandview. Mrs. Isbell worked for a period of time in the Hill County Clerk’s office and spent most of her life as a beautician at her residence in Hillsboro. She was a longtime member of College Hill Church of Christ in Hillsboro.
Preceding her in death were her parents; son, Laurence Isbell on September 16, 1991; husband, Everett E. Isbell on August 5, 2007; and one brother, James Laurence.
Survivors include her son, Damon Isbell of Hillsboro; sister, Rosalee Boyd of Whitney; five grandchildren, Brian, Kaleigh Ann, and Mollie Isbell all of Hillsboro and Amy Jo Harold and Lauran Ann Paige both of Arlington; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
