Jose V. Castillo

Jose Vera Castillo age 78, of Hillsboro passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021 in Ft Worth. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Pastor George Guerrero officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. He will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the funeral home in Hillsboro. Facial masks and social distancing are required.

Jose was born on March 9, 1942 in La Pryor, Texas to Francisco and Antonia Castillo. On November 16, 1963 he married the love of his life, Yomar De Leon Castillo. They had seven children. He spent the majority of his life ranching where he loves to hunt and go fishing with his children. He was a passionate father and a grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoyed building and doing woodwork. He also enjoyed making Menudo and Barbacoa for his children. He loved to get together at the ranch.

Jose was extremely loving and proud of his three daughters and four sons he is survived by his son, Juan Castillo of Florida; son, Joe Castillo of Whitney; his daughter, Marisela Rodriguez and husband Lupe of Bynum; son, Marcos of Hillsboro; daughter, Mary Lou Rodriguez and husband Eddie of Hubbard; son, Alex Castillo of Round Rock, and daughter, Debora Abrego and husband Emmanuel of Hillsboro; as well as his 21 grandchildren and 20 grand great grandchildren. He is also survived by his three sisters and six brothers and many loving nieces and nephews and other friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Yomar Castillo; one brother, Armando Castillo; his parents, Francisco and Antonia Castillo; and one granddaughter, Ernestina Salazar.
