Joseph Andrew Orban, 79, of Whitney, passed away on September 4, at his residence in Whitney. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date at the American Legion.
Joseph was born on May 19, 1940, in Premier, West Virginia to Andy and Margaret Marie Orban. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1958-1978 and was Chief Petty Officer. He was a master cabinet maker by profession, he also served as the Hill County Veterans Service Officer from 2005 - 2012 and as adjunct for the American Legion Post #522 in Whitney. But most importantly, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Andy and Margaret Orban and his wife, Diana.
Survivors include his children, Brad Orban and wife, Diane, Tiffany Quinn, and Brian Orban and wife, Haley; 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; a brother, Julius Orban of Waco; and a sister, Christine Cook of Indiana.
Memorials may be made in his name to the American Legion Scholarship; American Legion Post #522, P.O. Box 1133, Whitney, TX 76692.
