Joseph "Joe Thomas" Robinson

Joe Robinson, 66 of Hillsboro passed away Thursday afternoon at his residence. He was born in Gainesville, Georgia on January 21, 1947 to Junior Thomas and Edith Marie (Hicks) Robinson. A graduate of South Hall High School in Gainesville, Joe also attended Georgia Tech before entering the US Army, where he served in Viet Nam.

Following his military service, Joe moved to Texas and had been a resident of Hillsboro for the past 20 years. He worked in resort property sales for a number of years, including developments at Lake Whitney. Joe was of the Baptist faith.

A motorcycle enthusiast, Joe built a number of Harleys over the years. For five straight years he won “Best Dressed Bike in Texas” in shows at the Astrodome in Houston. He rode with the San Jacinto Highrollers who donated all proceeds from their projects to benefit children.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Thomas Junior Robinson in 1942. He is survived by his wife, Diana Robinson of Hillsboro; daughter, Brittney Seagal and husband, Eric of Angleton; two grandchildren, Macey and Molly Seagal; step-son, Matthew Bryan of O’Fallon, MO; brother, Don Robinson and wife, Ruby of Whitney; and niece Skyelar Marie Robinson, also of Whitney.
