Josephine Walls

Josephine Walls, 91, of Whitney, passed away on March 4, 2014 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Fort Graham Baptist Church with Dr. Allan Lane officiating. Burial will follow at Kimball Cemetery in Bosque County. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Friday, March 7, 2014 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.

Josephine was born on December 29, 1922, in Sherman to the late Walter and Josie (Pyles) Sanders. On January 9, 1960, she married James Edgar Walls in Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on November 30, 1996. She lived in Fort Worth during her adult life before moving to Whitney in 1984. She and James traveled to chili cook-offs around the U.S. as well as in other countries. Fishing, camping and being outdoors were favorite pastimes. A past member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion in Whitney, she was also a member of Fort Graham Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Walls; her parents, five brothers and 6 sisters.

She is survived by brother, William Sanders and wife, Helen, of Whitney as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
