Joseph "Roby" Robert Vinson

Joseph Robert “Roby” Vinson, age 73, of Whitney passed away on August 1, 2021 in McAllen, Texas.  He will lie in state between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.

He was born in Hillsboro, TX on July 20, 1948 to Joe Bob and Lillian Vinson of Whitney, TX.

Roby attended Whitney Schools from K-12 and then went on to Baylor University and graduated with a degree in marketing.

He spent most of his career in the mobile home manufacturing and sales business.  Later in life he traveled throughout the United States selling his handmade leather and wood products.

Roby enjoyed fishing, woodworking and fussing with his wife.

He will be remembered for telling stories about his life experiences and for his great sense of humor.

Roby is survived by his wife, Stella Vinson; his sons, Cory and wife, Tani, Ken and girlfriend, Tracy, Clint and wife Chelsea,and Ralph and his wife Melinda; along with 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
