Joyce Kucera Crumpton

Joyce Kucera Crumpton, 64, of Hillsboro passed away on January 31, 2020, at her residence.  Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, February 7, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Michael Nemec offficiating.  Burial will follow at Salem Lutheran Cemetery near Malone.  Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM, Thursday at the funeral home.

On August 19, 1955, Joyce was born in Hillsboro to Edwin Joe and Margie (Lentz) Kucera.  She grew up in Hill County and graduated from Bynum High School in 1973.  Following graduation, she worked for a time at Harris Electric and C&S Pharmacy before being employed at Family Diagnostic Medical Center.

While working at Family Diagnostic, she met Ralph Crumpton and the couple were later wed on May 17, 1981, in Malone.  A few years following, she began her career in banking, working as a teller first with Norwest Bank and its successor banks, and beginning in 2009, for Citizens National Bank.

Joyce was a loving wife, mother, and Gram.  Her children and grandchildren were the highlights of her life.  She enjoyed attending any and all types of sporting events, listening to rock and roll and dancing.  There was not a more kind-hearted person, someone who would not hesitate to go out of her way to help family and friends.

Joyce was preceded in death by her father, Edwin Kucera; brother, Kenneth Kucera; father-in-law, Roy Crumpton; and brother-in-law, Gary Baird.  Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ralph; mother, Margie Kucera; daughter, Jamie Jaska and husband, John; son, Joshua Crumpton and Rachel Callender; four sisters, Pauline Wines and husband, Kirk of West, Teresa Baird of Malone, Nancy Krueger and husband, Eddie of Bynum and Karen Picha and husband, Greg of West.

Also surviving are grandson, Jaxon Jaska and granddaughter, Jadyn Jaska; brother-in-law, Larry Crumpton and wife, Pam; sister-in-law, Sherrie Ripley and husband, Jeff; mother-in-law, Edna Crumpton; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and Jasper, the dog.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brad Wines, Tim Kucera, Heath Krueger, Justin Picha, Jerrod Crumpton, Kevin Ripley and Jacob Crumpton.  Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association; 710 N. 64th St.; Waco, TX 76710.
