Joyce Lanelle Palmer

Joyce LaNelle Palmer age 62, of Abbott, Texas, passed away Monday, April 6, 2020.  Private family services will be held. Mrs. Palmer will lie in state from 9AM – 5PM Thursday, April 9, 2020 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Joyce was born July 8, 1957 in Muleshoe, Texas to Gordon and Loveta (Estes) Guest. She grew up in Abbott and graduated from Abbott high School. Joyce later received her associate degree from Hill College in 1992, and also attended Tarleton State University and Baylor University. She worked as a paralegal for Ben Aufill and Dwight Carmichael. On August 1, 1984, she was united in marriage to David Stephen Palmer and he preceded her in death on December 1, 2002.

Joyce enjoyed doing arts and crafts, reading, church activities and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Lone Star Cowboy Church.

Also, preceding Joyce in death were her parents; and one brother, Dale Royce Guest.

She is survived by her children, Stephanie Sanford and husband, Dale, Loveta Breiten and husband, Travis Logan, and William Breiten and wife, Annie; best friend, Linda Logan; sister-in-law, Barbara Guest; nephew, John Daniel Guest; 4 grandchildren, Tia Gillentine and husband, Jerry, Jr., Katie Polega, Travis Logan II, Pablo Breiten; 4 great-grandchildren, Ava Gillentine, Destiny Carboni, Elisia Garner, and Kora Polega.
