Judith Mcnabb

Judith Marie McNabb was born on April 11, 1942 to James and Lois Sutton, in Small County, Indiana and went home to be with God on June 29, 2008. Her father, James Sutton was a US Army veteran which afforded Judy the luxury of living in many foreign countries. She graduated from high school in America from San Leandro, California in 1960. She then attended nursing school in San Francisco, California, leaving after a year to pursue dreams in Alaska. After meeting the love of her life, E. L. Buster McNabb, she married and they had many adventures together. They built a hotel in Juneau, Alaska, and fished the Bering Sea out of Dutch Harbor, Alaska. They owned and ran an FBO and they were partners in a Boat Works in Newport, Oregon where they built several fishing boats. In 1982, Judy and Buster moved to Prineville, Oregon where Buster and Judy ranched and raised peppermint. They distilled mint for themselves and others. Judy ran the mint still during harvest. They lived there until Busters death in 1999. In 2003, Judy sold the ranch and moved to Hill County, Texas in the town of Whitney. Judy was a member of the American Legion in Prineville, Elk's Club Auxiliary, Eagles Club and was a member and past president of the Prineville Golf & Country Club. She was heavily involved in Christmas baskets for the needy, both with the Legion and Elks. She was a very talented person, and loved reading mysteries, doing ceramics, crocheting, golfing, crossword puzzles, cribbage and playing pan guinea. She loved art of all kinds, trying her hand at pixeling art, painting and such. She loved the sea and going on cruises with friends, she was always interested in travel of any kind, here and abroad. She is survived by her brother, Scott Sutton and wife, Lynette of Tangent, Oregon; a sister, Jan McCauly; mother, Lois Sutton both of Bellflower, California; sons, Matthew Jas of Anchorage, Alaska and Heath Jas of Prineville, Oregon. She was loved and cherished by life long friends. She was a supporter of the US Military veterans' fund, Special Olympics and the Humane Society of America. She was a loving person and will be throughly missed by family and friends and her cherished pets, Missa, Mandy, Zoey and Little Girl. This obituary is way to short to list all the life long accomplishments and all the love in her heart. There have been so many lives and hearts touched by Judy and Buster McNabb that it would take the newspaper to list them. Her wishes did not include any services and her ashes will remain in Texas with the bluebonnets, hummingbirds and butterflies. Donations can be made to the American Legion Club, 405 N. Main St., Prineville, Oregon, 97754 in her honor.
