Julia Trompler

Julia Allison Trompler passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at the age of 97 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2014, at the family plot in Peoria Cemetery near Peoria, Texas. She was born December 16, 1916 in the Bethel Community, Hill County, Texas in the family farmhouse, daughter of Kate and William Thomas Allison. One of eight brothers and sisters, she grew up in a closely knit family, helping with all the chores of living on a small farm during tough economic times. Julia attended a one room school house located on land her family donated for that purpose. She later attended Hill Community College. In 1936 she married Raymond Allen Trompler. They began life together in Dallas and later when Raymond went into the Methodist ministry, they moved to Ladonia and then Honey Grove in Fannin County, Texas for his pastoral assignments. She had two sons, Raymond Allison Trompler, born in 1941 and Don Rowland Trompler, born in 1944. In later years, Raymond and Julia returned to Dallas. She enjoyed working in downtown Dallas in several department stores, including Joske's and Titche's. Every year she returned to her beloved childhood home in Hill County for family gatherings. As the years passed she became the matriarch of the Allison family, keeping in touch with her many nieces and nephews and their families. After living many years in Dallas, Julia moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico in 2012 to be near her closest family. She left many affectionate extended family members back in Hill County and continued to be in close touch with them all. Her family was her greatest joy.

Julia is survived by son Dr. Raymond Allison Trompler and wife, Helen Zagona, of Las Cruces, New Mexico; grandson, Robert Allen Trompler and wife, Sharon Trompler, and great-grandson, Ryan Trompler, all of Las Cruces, New Mexico; and grandson, Curtis Trompler and partner, Judy Mendez, of Austin, Texas.
