Julie Lucile Slotvig, 53, of Itasca passed away Monday, May 30, 2016, at her residence. A Celebration of Life service hosted by her family will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at Church on The Hill, 2000 Old Brandon Road, Hillsboro, TX 76645.

Julie was born January 9, 1963 in Renton, Washington to Juanita (Belden) and James R. Breiling, Sr. She grew up in Washington and graduated from Seattle Christian School in 1980. On September 18, 1982, Julie was united in marriage to Jeff Slotvig. She was a para professional for three years in the Federal Way Washington School District and for the past ten years at Itasca Independent School District. She was a member of Church on The Hill in Hillsboro, was actively involved in children’s ministry in both Federal Way and Hillsboro, and was a Trust board member for Hilco. In her spare-time, Julie enjoyed scrap booking and shopping. She loved being a wife and mother and brought much joy and laughter to others.

Preceding her in death were her father and grandparents.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 33 years, Jeff Slotvig of Itasca; mother, Juanita Breiling of Auburn, WA; two children, Alisha Garrett and husband, Michael, of Tyler and Bob Slotvig of Itasca; four brothers, James Breiling, Jr. of Freeland, WA, Joseph Breiling of Arlington, WA, Jeff Breiling of Moses Lake, WA, and Jon Breiling of Auburn, WA and their spouses; sister, Jene’ Baxter and spouse of Lincolnton, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1301 S. Broadway Ave., Tyler, TX 75701.
