Karen Annette Worley was born on November 25, 1949 in Aquilla, Texas, the seventh daughter of Braxton and Valda Barnes Worley. Karen graduated as valedictorian of the 1968 senior class of Aquilla High School. She earned an Associates of Arts Degree from Hill College in 1970; a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Texas, Arlington in 1974. She taught English and History in the Dallas Independent School District, then worked for the City of Arlington until her retirement. Karen was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Addie Burleson. Survivors include her daughter, the joy of her life, Sarah Prescott of Arlington; sisters and brothers-in-laws, Anna and William Polster of Perry, Texas, Tommacine and Herbert Hill of Whitney, Sue and Dr. William Manax of West, Peggy and Dennis Frazier of Burleson, Judy Chick of Fredricksburg, VA.; brother and sister-in-law, Benny and Karen Worley of Aquilla; numerous nieces and nephews and family friends, Mike Prescott and Chris Stevens. Memorials may be made to John Peter Smith Oncology Center, Fort Worth, Texas or the charity of your choice.
