Karon Simmons

Karon Simmons, 86 of Whitney and formerly of Aquilla passed away on March 2, 2012.

Graveside services will be held at Noon, Monday, March 5, 2012 at New Lebanon Cemetery near Aquilla. Visitation will be from 9 - 11 a.m. Monday prior to the service at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.

Karon was born on November 4, 1925 in the Hickory Flat Community near Aquilla to the late Charlie F. and Laura Eddie (White) Burleson where she grew up and lived most of her life in the area. On February 24, 1949 she married Mike Simmons and he preceded her in death on February 28, 2006. She was a housewife and helped work on the farm with Mike. Karon was a member of Smith Bend Baptist Church.

She was also preceded in death by her grandson, David Morrow; 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

Survivors include her children, Michael Simmons and wife, Shelia of Aquilla, Donna Leas and husband, Tim of Waco, Rhonda Ince and husband, Jessie of Whitney; grandchildren,
Christopher Simmons, Warren Ince, Robin Harwell, Clay Simmons, Jessica Ince, Joshua Ince, Laura Walker; great grandchildren, Cole Simmons, Claire Simmons, Addison Harwell, Ava Harwell, Anna Harwell, Cooper Simmons, Will Ince, Kiegan Ince, Phoenix Ponce and Evan Walker.
