Kathleen Ruth Robinson passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, in Hillsboro, Texas. Graveside service will take place at 10:00 am, Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery, Corsicana, Texas, with Brother Paul Clark officiating. Visitation will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Friday, August 5, 2022, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors, Hillsboro, Texas.
Kathleen was born October 6, 1922, to Malcolm Edward Roman, Sr. and Alice Kathleen Ruth Roman in Corbet, Texas. The family had a farm and raised livestock, providing a warm and wonderful childhood for Kathleen, her brother and two sisters. Kathleen graduated from Corsicana High School and worked at the Corbet Grocery for a while. She then joined her sister and brother-in-law during World War II to work at the shipbuilding plant in Portland, Oregon. Kathleen worked as a cashier at the cafeteria there along with one of her childhood girlfriends.
After returning to Corbet, Kathleen met a dashing soldier just back from the war. She and Dee C. Robinson (also known as Tom) married on December 31, 1946, and made their home on a farm near Dawson, Texas. She liked the country life, except when some of the cows got out of the fenced pasture and Dee was not there to help get them back in.
Dee and Kathleen later moved to Hillsboro with two young kids in tow, remaining in Hillsboro thereafter. Dee worked in the propane gas business and Kathleen remained a homemaker, always showing her love for her children and grandchildren with her roast beef, fried chicken, and meringue pies.
Dee and Kathleen were long time members of Walnut Street Baptist Church in Hillsboro.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dee Robinson, parents Malcolm and Alice Roman, sisters Mary Ester Beeman and Maxine (Bobbie) Anderson, brother Malcolm Edward Roman, Jr., grandson John Christopher Webster, and daughter-in-law Becki Beamon Robinson.
Kathleen is survived by two children, Kitty Webster and husband Winston Burkman and Johnny Robinson and wife Jan; grandchildren David Webster, Chad Robinson and wife Donita, DeDe Hulett, and husband Dustin; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
