Kay Hope, 50, of Whitney, Texas, lost her difficult battle with cancer and went home to be with the Lord on April 27, 2005 at the Lake Whitney Medical Center in Whitney. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30 at Cedar Creek Baptist Church in Whitney. Rev. Wade Yarbro officiated. She was laid to rest at Whitney Memorial Park. Kay was born on December 18, 1954 in Fort Worth, Texas to Norman Ray and Nora Edna Kissinger Long. On January 19, 1976, she married Arthur Wilbert Hope in Weatherford, Texas. Kay was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Norman Long; brother, Gary Wayne Long; sister, Shelia Hedrick and step-mother, Margaret Long. Survivors include her husband, Will of Whitney; mother, Nora Blanton and husband, Buddy of Whitney; children, Doug Hope and wife, Ahleasha of Whitney, Kristi Burrows and husband, Gary of Whitney; brother, Jimmy Norris of Dallas; sisters, Belinda Calhoun and husband, Mike of Kennedale, Norma Fuqua of Mansfield, Janice Roberts of Houston, Patricia Sue Martin and husband, Jackie of Whitney, Alice Scott and husband, John of Whitney and grandchildren, Tyler Joseph Hope and Colby Tanner Hope, and Nathan Kristopher Burrows expected in July, all of Whitney. Memorials may be made to Cedar Creek Baptist Church, 5643 FM 933, Whitney, TX 76692. Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney were in charge of arrangements.
