Kayla Anderson

Kayla Mari Anderson, 15, of Whitney, passed away on August 6, 2016. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., at the Open Range Cowboy Church in Whitney, with Mr. Shane Metcalf officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, from 6-8 p.m., at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.

Kayla was born on November 20, 2000, in Cleburne, to Lonzell and Carri (Middlebrook) Anderson. She attended Whitney schools before starting as a freshman at Aquilla High School and would have started 10th grade this year. She was a cheerleader at Aquilla and also played basketball.

An avid animal lover, she enjoyed the outdoors and loved spending time with her family and friends. She attended church at Whitney Fellowship; she was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her uncle, Matt Middlebrook.

Survivors include her parents, Lonzell and Carri Anderson of Whitney; brothers, Kendrick Anderson and Kobe Anderson, both of Whitney; paternal grandparents, Joe and Queen Anderson of Whitney, maternal grandfather, Danny Middlebrook of Pensacola, Florida, maternal grandparents, Ray and Mary Mabry of Whitney; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.
