Kenneth Neil Allen, 72, of Hillsboro passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Central Texas Veterans Health Care in Waco, Texas. He will Lie in State on Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 9:00 a.m–9:00 p.m and funeral services will be Friday, July 12, 2019 at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro. Committal service with full Military Honors will be on Monday, July 15, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Kenneth was born October 29, 1946 in Ransom, Kansas with a sister twin, (Kay, Kay) Karen Kayn Allen, he was the son of Hillard Grant and Ruth (Wallace) Allen. He attended West High School in Wichita, Kansas. Kenneth joined the Navy, August 12, 1964, at USNTC, San Diego, California. He served his country in the US Navy from August 12, 1964 to May 2, 1986. He was awarded the National Defense Ribbon, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 4 bronze service stars, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea). E-6 Petty Officer, Kenneth Neil allen retired at NAS Kingsville, Texas.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Betty Allen; brothers, Donald Dee Allen, Harold Dean Allen, Roger Wallace Allen, and Duane Grant Allen.
Survivors include brother, Michael Ray Allen of Tecumseh, Kansas, and Allen Dale Hudson of Abilene, Kansas; sisters, Ruth Eloise Oriez of Lindsborg, Kansas, Donna Mae Davis of Ellsworth, Kansas, and Janice Perkins of Lorraine, Kansas; step children, Kay Farquhar of Itasca, Texas, Peggy Hawks of Ft. Worth, Texas, Brenda Stotts of Joshua, Texas, Sonny Merritt of Hillsboro, Texas, Johnnie Jones of Hillsboro, Texas and Sally Price of Whitney, Texas
