Kenneth Wayne Brown

Kenneth Wayne Brown, 61, of Brandon, Texas unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord on June 19, 2023. Graveside services will take place at 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Brandon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Friday, June 23, 2023, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Kenneth was born in Tyler, Texas on July 7, 1961, to Earl Wayne and Myra Jo Brown. He grew up in Tyler and graduated from John Tyler high school. After graduation he attended the East Texas Police Academy. Kenneth started working for Brookshires grocery at age 16 as a sacker. He made his career with Brookshires which spanned 38 years, working his way up to his final position as Retail Merchandising Supervisor. Kenneth married Shelley McGinty in January of 1992 in Sugarland Texas. They made their home in Bynum for the last twenty plus years.

Kenneth had a servant’s heart and was always willing to help wherever needed, without complaint and with a smile on his face. Anyone who knew him describes him as the type of man you knew you could call if you needed help, and he would be there. He loved without conditions and without judgement. Kenneth proudly served as a schoolboard member for Bynum ISD since 2003. He also coached Lions Club flag football, helped coach little dribblers basketball and you could generally find him running the clock for the Bynum Bulldogs every Friday night of football season. Kenneth loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter. One of his favorite things to do was going to the deer lease with Shelley and Justin. We will miss his deep voice, gentle laugh and his way of saying “everything is gonna be alright.”

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Wayne Brown and Myra Jo Phares; and his in-laws Pat and Shirley McGinty. He is survived by Shelley, his wife of thirty-one years; his son Justin Brown of Whitehouse; his bonus daughter, Cortney Brockette, who he loved like his own; his brother and sister-in-law Tim and Kristin McGinty from Brandon; his brother Robert Brown of Whitehouse; sister Gayelynn Phillips of Whitehouse; brother John and Dianna Brown of Tyler; and brother James and Maria Brown of Spring, Texas.

Kenneth loved the Lord and had a strong faith. He lived his life with honesty and integrity, he loved unconditionally and had a heart of gold. He was truly a blessing to all who knew him and will be greatly missed.

Memorials may be made to the Brandon/Bynum Cemetery Association, P. O. Box 111, Brandon, Texas 76628.
