Kenneth Darold Fisher, 83, of Whitney, passed away on November 28, 2018 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 3, 2018 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.
Kenneth was born on October 14, 1935, in Venus, the youngest son of Willard and Charlotte Fisher. The family relocated to Osceola in 1939. He and his dog attended school at the age of 4. He grew up working on his family farm and he worked at a variety of jobs including building boats, dairy farming, and driving a truck for Coca Cola USA until his retirement.
In 1962 he married the love of his life, Rita, and they moved to Whitney to be close to the lake and raise their family. He enjoyed all aspects of the lake like fishing, boating, and water skiing. They enjoyed RVing and he and Rita spent summers in Colorado for 20 years.
In his later years, he enjoyed the daily fellowship of coffee with his friends at Sun Country. A hard worker, he was also an avid "do-it-yourself-er", an epic storyteller, jokester and a die-hard Dallas Cowboy fan. He loved time spent with his family and had a smile that would light up a room.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Don Fisher.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Fisher; children, Kevin Fisher and wife, Janice, Vickie Brooks and husband, Dale, Kristy Smith and husband, Andrew, Darold Fisher and Darla Fisher; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Martha Nell Denison and husband, Johnny.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Kenneth’s name to Hill County Paw Pals, P.O. Box 1533, Hillsboro, TX 76645.
