Kenneth Ray Peel passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at the age of 69, in his hometown of Hillsboro, Texas. In recent years, his battle with serious medical issues showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain and discomfort, Kenneth came out a hero and stayed strong until the end. He was born to parents J.O. Peel and Nancy Jane Peel, on May 22, 1952, in Clifton, Texas.
Kenneth was a brilliant musician who played his way into the hearts of so many people. He had a passion for entertaining, and very rarely did you see him without an instrument in his hand. He loved playing the guitar, steel guitar, and singing, as well as making people laugh. He found joy in the simple things in life like being around friends and family and good food. Kenneth was also a God-fearing man who loved his family and loved Christ.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Alamo Hospice and The Wesley House in Hillsboro for their loving care and support during his final days.
Two daughters and three sons survive Kenneth. Carolyn Faulkinberry and husband Danny, Kendra Markwardt and husband Eric, Michael Votaw and wife Ivy, Randy Votaw, and “more like a son,” Kevin Adams. Kenneth is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Dustin Poteet, Wyatt Faulkinberry, Weston Faulkinberry, Trey Votaw, Ryan Markwardt, Rylee Markwardt, Harley Votaw, Keeton Votaw, Baylen Votaw, and Kaleb Votaw. His three sisters, Carol Torrance, Kathy Lyons, Becky Montes, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, J.O. Peel and Nancy Jane Peel, his beloved wife, Glenda Densman Peel, and brother Jo Allen Peel.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 11:00 am at Marshall and Marshall Chapel in Hillsboro, Texas. Visitation will take place Monday, September 20, 2021, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Marshall and Marshall Chapel in Hillsboro, Texas.
