Kenneth Upchurch

Kenneth Upchurch, 52 of Whitney passed away Sunday, October 28, 2012 in a Waco hospital. Services will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro. Burial will follow at Itasca Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service.

Kenneth was born October 26, 1960 in Milford, Texas to F. L. and Elizabeth Ann (Comer) Upchurch. He grew up in Hill County before moving to Yoakum County in his youth. For over 20 years, he worked for Yoakum County where he was an equipment operator. He moved to Whitney in 2005. In his spare time, Kenneth loved to ride his Harley. A generous person, he would literally give someone the shirt off his back. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley McCreary, and by his paternal grandparents, Homer and Jocie Upchurch and maternal grandparents, J. B. and Vada Comer of Itasca.

Survivors include his parents, F. L. and Ann Upchurch of Hillsboro; two sons, Chris Williams and wife, Patricia of Venus, and Russell Williams and wife, Dianna of Stanton; two brothers, Wayne Upchurch and wife, Sandy of Itasca, and Leonard Upchurch and wife, Jocie of Denver City; one sister, Cynthia Boiles and husband, Keith of Cottonwood, MN, and one brother-in-law, James McCreary of Gholson; nine grandchildren, Storri, Levi, Jessyka, Destani, Breyanna, and Kutter Williams and Kailann, Kaden, and Kyeson Cox; and many nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Stroke Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.
