Kennith Ray Ivy, 84, of Whitney, passed away on February 6, 2017, in Burleson. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney with Rev. Eddie Booth officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Valley Cemetery in Whitney. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Kennith was born on August 18, 1932, in Whitney, to Kennith and Bessie (Waggoner) Ivy.
A lifelong resident of Whitney, he married Leone Wallace on December 9, 1954 and she preceded him in death on July 18, 2003. For 30 years, he worked at Wilson Manufacturing in Clifton before retiring in 1995. He also enjoyed farming and ranching and especially tending to his cattle. In his spare time he liked to fish and hunt. He was a member of Prairie Valley Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Virginia Ince; and his brothers-in-law, Edwin Ince and Floyd Hoffman.
Survivors include his son, Garland Ray Ivy and wife, Deborah of Rio Vista; daughter, Sissie Holt of Cleburne; grandchildren, Clinton Ray Ivy of Whitney, James Odell Ivy and wife, Anna, of Whitney, Skylar Nicole Holt of Cleburne, Chris Miller and wife, Cindy of Austin and Scotty Miller and wife, Christie of Fort Worth; great-grandchildren, Cami Ivy, Judson Ivy and Nolan Ivy, all of Whitney; and a sister, Barbara Ann Hoffman of White Settlement.
