Kenton Vinson

Kenton Vinson, 61, of Whitney, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 in Clifton. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 18, 2013, at Heath Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM, on Thursday, October 17, 2013, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.
Kenton was born on June 15, 1952, in Hillsboro, to the late Joe Bob and Lillian (Gant) Vinson. He grew up in Whitney and graduated from Whitney High School and Hill College before receiving a B.B.A. degree from Baylor University in 1974. Before owning and operating his own business, Vinson’s Carpet Care, he worked for Braniff and International Harvester. On April 26, 1985, he married Della Zhanel. He enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Bobby Joe Vinson.

He is survived by his wife, Della Vinson of Whitney; brother Roby Vinson and wife, Stella of Whtiney; sisters-in-law Diane Zhanel and Terry Zhanel; brother-in-law, James Zhanel, all of Ennis; nephews, Cory, Ken and Clint Vinson, Ralph Medina, Zack King, David Zhanel, Jr., Chris Christian and Joe Zhanel; and niece Tina Polson.
