L. N. Brown

L. N. Brown, 84, of Hillsboro passed away Monday, September 2, 2013, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2013, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro. Burial will follow at Gerald Cemetery near Leroy. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2013, at the funeral home.

L. N. was born June 11, 1929 in Exeter, Nebraska to Nelse and Marie (Thompsen) Brown. He graduated from Cordova High School in Cordova, Nebraska in 1947. From 1954-1957, he served his country in the United States Air Force. On January 7, 1956, he married Lucretia Horn in Axtell. Beginning in 1957, he became a pilot for American Airlines and retired after 33 years in 1990. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Lucretia Brown of Hillsboro; three children, Terri Crawford and husband, Philip, of Hillsboro, Roy Brown and wife, Kim, of Sabinal, and Lori Atwell and husband, Jeff, of Hillsboro; two sisters, Barbara Woodruff of Dallas and Marilyn Krantz of Granbury; seven grandchildren, Cameron, Addison, and Madeleine Crawford, all of Hillsboro, Chesney and Jacob Brown both of Sabinal, McCall Parrish of Dallas, and Tiffany Jones and husband, J., of Weatherford; three great-grandchildren, Julia, Avery, and Chloe Jones, all of Weatherford; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
