Lanelle Hollingsworth

Lanelle Hollingworth , 76, of Whitney, passed away on June 2, 2016 at her residence. A graveside service will be held under the direction of Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors of Whitney vat 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, June 5, 2016, at Mart Cemetery in Mart, with Mr. Travis Smith officiating.

Lanelle was born on December 19, 1939 in Mart, Texas, to W. C. and Althie (Rose) Roy. In 1958, she graduated and then attended Abilene Christian University. She later attended MCC to obtain her license in Nursing Home Administration. After 40 years in the nursing home business, she retired in 2005 and moved to Whitney the same year. She worked at Whitney Medical Center for a year and a half as Patient Advocate / Public Relations.

Preceding her in death were her parents; three husbands; a son, Ricky Adler; three brothers and a great-grandchild.

Survivors include a son, Mickey Adler and wife, Donna of Whitney; six granddaughters and nine great-grandchildren; a sister Chrystelle Lingo of Bridge City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hosptial, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
