Laura Druschel

Laura Anna Druschel, 90, of Whitney, Texas, passed away peacefully for her Heavenly Home on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Park Plaza Nursing Home, following a long illness.

Laura was born July 27, 1924 in Brownwood, Texas. She was the daughter of the late John Wesley Hill and Maude Irene Hoard Hill. She was preceded in death by her husbands first, Wesley Clyde Higdon, and then later by William Druschel; by her brothers Erman Hill, Jesse Hill, John W. Hill, and Thomas T. Hill; and by her sisters, Florence Murphy, Irene Pate, Roberta Norvell, and Pauline Hazel Hill.

Laura had a love for life, and enjoyed visits to and from all her friends and family. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Laura is survived by her two daughters, May “Samantha” Wrenn Reeves and Janet Edrington, five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and four great, great grandchildren.

There are many cousins, nieces, nephews, and both grand and great grand relatives and friends who will miss Laura’s humor and stories.

A graveside service will be held at 10 am, Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Hillcrest Garden of Memory, Hillsboro, Texas with Branch President Jason Holloway of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Hillsboro Officiating. Viewing will be available Monday, January 5, 2015, from 9 am to 9 pm at the Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors, Whitney, Texas.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in the name of Laura Druschel to the American Cancer Society, 1700 Lake Success Dr. Waco, Texas 76710 or your local Hospice.
