Laura Weil

Laura McCullough Weil, 68, of Carl’s Corner passed away at her residence with her loving husband, Jimmy, at her side. Private memorial services will be held at a later date out of state.

Laura was born in Crowley, LA on July 5, 1948, to the late Thomas Larry and Louise Marcella (Bazergue) McCullough. She grew up in Louisiana, and after graduating college, became an elementary school teacher. Later she started and operated the Reputation Cattle Co. in Livonia LA., and later in Bynum, TX. She also was involved with Weil Contracting Company and worked at Howdy's Bar-B-Que in Milford, where she met Jimmy Bynum for the first time. A short while later they were married on January 15, 1997, at the Hill County Courthouse. The couple celebrated over twenty years together before her passing.

Laura donated much of her time to C.A.S.A. and also served as a cub scout leader for many years. She enjoyed playing the bass fiddle with her husband, Jimmy, at various Bluegrass Festivals across the country. Laura was known for many things, but she was especially known for her compassion for children. She selflessly gave of her time to help those in need. A great wife, mother, and grandmother, she will be sorely missed by all those she touched with her heart.

Preceding her in death were her parents and a son, Justin Leonard Weil.

Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Bynum of Carl’s Corner; son J. Mac Weil and wife, Amy, of Irene; grandsons, Joe Mac and Jake Weil of Irene; brothers, Timothy and Tommy McCullough of Lafeyette, LA and sister, Emily McCullough of Crowley, LA. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
