Laverne McCauley Finch, 97, of Hillsboro passed away Friday March 7, 2014, at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m.-Noon Tuesday prior to service time at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.
Laverne was born March 30, 1916 in Brandon to David Franklin and Bertha Eva (Jack) McCauley. She lived in Hill County most of her life and in Hillsboro since August 1967. On October 14, 1938 she married Thomas Albert Brooks and he preceded her in death on May 10, 1974. She later married Marvin Finch at December 17, 1988 and he preceded her in death.
For a number of years, she volunteered at the nursing home before later becoming a resident there. She was a member of Line Street United Methodist Church in Hillsboro. She was also preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Horace, Thurman, and Maurace McCauley.
Survivors include her three brothers, Jack McCauley of Hillsboro, George Mauron McCauley and wife, Doris, of Fort Worth, and Kacey Marshall McCauley and wife, Deborah, of Van; and many nieces and nephews.
