Laverne Mckeehan

Laverne McKeehan 86, of Hillsboro passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 in Waco. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 5, 2019 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney. Officiating will be Mr. Bruce Martin, Mr. Ryan Mangum and Mr. Glen MacDonald. A visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Heath Cemetery.

Laverne was born on August 31, 1932 in Hill County, Texas to William Edward and Wilma (Newsom) Pelham. She spent her early years in Hill County. Laverne married W. D. McKeehan on March 1, 1979, and he preceded her in death on July 22, 1995. She lived in Sweetwater, Texas for 20 years, retunring to Whitney in 1996. She was a member of the Hillsboro Church of Christ and formerly of the Whitney Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, W.D. McKeehan; son, David O’Neal; stepson, Dale McKeehan; a baby brother and sister; sisters, Hazel Pelham, Marie Sanders, Floy Law, Mozelle Yates, Dorothy Raulston and Jo Wilson; brothers, E. L. Pelham and Tommy Pelham.

Survived by her son, Benny O’ Neal and wife, Isabelle; daughter, Nancy Arellano,; daughter-in-law, Marcia McKeehan; sister, Lilly Beck; grandchildren, Tommy Arellano and wife, Yvonne, Mark McKeehan, and Robin McKeehan; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
