Lela Surginer

Lela Fern Owens Surginer , 65, of Burleson passed away on July 13, 2006. She was the daughter of Lester C. and Minnie Elizabeth Shell Owens. On March 18, 1981 she married Earl Surginer and he preceded her in death January 13, 1998. She moved from Hobbs, New Mexico to Grand Prairie in 1963 and had lived at Trinity Mission of Burleson since 1996. She was of the Baptist faith. Lela was a loving mother, sister, aunt and friend to all who knew her. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Emmitt Lee Owens. Survivors include her children, Delia M. ?Dee? Powell Brown and husband, Lee of Joshua, Justin Lee Pinson/Agnew of Bryan, Avery M. Powell of Texarkana, Arkansas; stepsons, Claude Earl Surginer and wife, Peggy of Cleburne, Audrey Surginer of Cleburne; sisters, Dorothy Ilene Owens of Hobbs, New Mexico, Judy May Perryman of Odessa, Vivian Lois Smith of Odessa, Linda Joyce Riley of Oklahoma; six grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
