Lena Paulla Fair, affectionately known as “Nanny” to most everyone, 92, of Hillsboro passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. Graveside services will be held at Noon on Friday, October 25, 2013, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro with Rev. Leah Hidde-Gregory officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 A.M. Friday, October 25, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.
Lena was born September 23, 1921 in Hill County to John David and Maggie (Walker) Terry. She lived all her life in Hill County and graduate from Milford High School in 1939. She also attended Hillsboro Junior College in Hillsboro. For several years, she worked at T. B. Bond and H&R Drug and for 15 years at Hillsboro State Bank. Her hobbies included painting and playing the piano. She showed many of her paintings at Bond’s Alley. Before retiring, she served as a nanny to Benjamin and Andrew Beyer, children of Dr. David and Dr. Carol Beyer. The Beyer family remained a very important part of her own family through the years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hillsboro.
Preceding her in death were her parents; brother, William F. Terry; and sister, Sarah Eunice Terry.
Survivors include her daughter, Paulla Frazier and husband, Van, of Hillsboro; sister, Mary Harwell and husband, Cotton, of Hillsboro; two grandchildren, Lisa Anne Soward and husband, Bryan, of Hillsboro and Robert Frazier and wife, Laura, of Round Rock; four great-grandchildren, Lola Anne Soward, Stella Rose Soward, Bryan Amos Soward, and Ava Kathryn Frazier; and many nieces and nephews.
