Lena Franks

Lena was born December 8, 1907 in Union, Arkansas to Arch and Myrtle Cochran Singleton. She grew up in Arkansas and moved to Whitney in 1976. On September 13, 1925 she married James Earl Franks and he preceded her in death on September 27, 1996. Also preceding her in death were her parents, an infant daughter, three brothers, and one sister. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Whitney. Survivors include two children, Norma Fox and husband, Gene, of Whitney, and Bob Franks and wife, Floy, of Bullard; two brothers, Eugene Singleton of Washington State and Gary Singleton of Arkansas; two sisters, Vada Piburn of California and Vaunderia Gay of Georgia; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
