Lena Starr

Lena F. Starr 75, a retired boot maker died Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at Burleson. She was the daughter of Dixon and Mabel Mercer Darnell. She grew up in Arkansas and moved to Texas in the early 1950's. She married Herman Starr on February 14, 1958 and he preceded her in death on February 13, 1994. She worked in the boot manufacturing industry in Fort Worth and retired to the Whitney area in 1974. She was an avid fisherman. She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 90 in Whitney. She was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Survivors include her daughter, Linda Ellis and husband, Jeral of Burleson; step-daughters, Connie Starr of Westminister, Co., Teresa Starr of Denton; half-sister, Gladys Millwood of Dumas, AR; 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
