Leota Joyce Hubbard, 67, of Itasca passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017, in a Cleburne hospital. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 7, 2017, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Nancy Neal officiating.
Leota was born May 24, 1950 in Clifton to Wallace DeWitt and Bertha Ruth (Stone) Graves. A graduate of Mansfield High School, she went on to attend University of Texas at Arlington and Hill College. On May 28, 1969, Leota was united in marriage to Steve Hubbard. She was employed as a medical records clerk at Grant Buie Hospital, Hillsboro Clinic, Hill Regional Hospital, Family Diagnostic, and Whitney Hospital. Leota enjoyed country and blue grass music, fishing, and spending time with animals, especially horses. Her family brought her the greatest joy of all. She was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church in Hillsboro.
Preceding her in death were her parents. Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Steve Hubbard of Itasca; son, Travis Joe Hubbard and fiancée, Allycea Clark of Hillsboro; two brothers, Dr. Wallace “Doc” Graves and wife, Donna, of Blum and Brent Jackson Graves of Mansfield; two sisters, Reba Jane Dahr of Graford and Martha June Haidusek and husband, Edward, of Venus; and grandson, Lane Brantley Hubbard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gladney Center for Adoption, 6300 John Ryan Drive, Fort Worth, TX 76132.
