Lester Heard

Lester W. Heard, 66, of Frost passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Edward Sumrall officiating. Burial will follow at Bell Springs Cemetery near Bynum. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2012, at the funeral home.

Lester was born November 24, 1945 in Pittsburg, TX to Lester W. and Jean (Roberts) Heard. He grew up and attended school in Corsicana. On February 22, 1969 he married Illene Sparks and she preceded him in death on December 2, 1995. They settled in Bynum following their marriage. For many years he was a truck driver for Central Freight and Brown Express. He later married Sue Wallace on May 17, 2004 in Hillsboro and they moved to Frost. Lester enjoyed a good game of poker, fishing, and collecting knives. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Woodman of The World Lodge.

Also preceding him in death were his parents and a son, Rusty Heard.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Heard of Frost; sons, Robert Heard and wife, Lori, of Bynum and Jason Dozier of Frost; brother, Bobby Heard and wife, Judy, of Purdon; two sisters, Sharon Heard and Michelle Beckham both of Fort Worth; four grandchildren, Austin Heard, Illene Heard, Luke Heard, and Tommy Dozier; and a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
