Leta Ann (Hopson) Bird

Leta Ann Bird, age 77 of Hillsboro, Texas, passed away Friday, January 21, 2022 at Hill Regional Hospital.  A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Home from 10:00-12:00. The graveside service will follow at 2:00 at the Hillcrest Garden of Memory Cemetery.

Leta was born on January 29, 1944 in Gatesville, Texas to William Manning and Annie O’leta Hopson.  She married Charles Bird on November 30, 1962 and they made Hillsboro their home in October of 1978.  Leta enjoyed quilting and making baby blankets.  She loved spending time with her grand and great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, William and Annie Hopson, and her brothers, Leon and Nelton Hopson.

Leta is survived by her husband, Charles Bird of Hillsboro, her daughters, Jo Lynn Brumbalow and husband Edgar of Grandview, Lisa Gordon and husband Donald Van, of Hillsboro, and Cheryl Stone of Fort Worth; grandchildren Kristy Smith, Kimberly Thomas, Justin Stone, Brian Brumbalow, Joshua Stone, Jacob Stone, Chandler Gordon, Victoria Gordon and many great-grandchildren.
