Lillian C. Clark, 94, of Whitney, passed away on March 8, 2015, at a local nursing home. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Town Hall Estates Chapel in Whitney.
Lillian was born on April 3, 1920, in San Antonio, to Robert and Emma C. (Nocker) Hayden. On June 4, 1939, she married Oscar Clark. Together, they owned and operated Clark’s Super Save in Irving for several years before owning Clark’s Grocery Store in Itasca for about 10 years. They sold the store in l969 and moved to Whitney where Lillian worked as a bookkeeper. She was a talented artist who enjoyed painting. A member of First Baptist Church in Whitney, she served for several years as the church librarian.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Oscar Clark, one son, Richard Clark, a brother, Vernon Hayden and a sister, Sister M.Jeanne D’Matel.
Survivors include her son, David Clark and wife, Thuy of Trinidad; a sister, Sister M.Jean Hayden of Victoria; 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
